Apple Core

Apple Core help

Apple Core connects an AI client to the services you choose on your Mac. Local access is free. Hosted access is currently an invitation-only beta.

Start on this Mac

  1. Open Apple Core from Applications, then open Settings from its menu bar icon.
  2. Choose the services your client needs. macOS will ask for permission where required.
  3. Open Access and copy the local address and token into a client that supports local MCP connections.
  4. Keep Apple Core running while your client uses it.

For files, add the folders you want to share in Settings. Allow writing only for folders where your client should be able to make changes.

Connect from another device

With an invitation, open Settings, then Access, and set up remote access using the invitation code. Add https://mcp.applecore.app/mcp to your client. During authorization, enter the Connection ID shown in Apple Core and complete the approval on your Mac.

Your Mac must be awake, connected to the internet, and running Apple Core. Hosted access does not move your Mac services to a cloud computer.

Use Apple Core on two Macs

Install the app on each Mac. Local access works independently on both. For hosted access, use a separate invitation on each Mac. Each installation has its own Connection ID, credentials, service permissions, and shared folders.

Choose the Connection ID for the Mac you want your client to use. Copying settings from another Mac does not transfer its hosted connection. Disconnecting one Mac leaves the other connection in place.

Check a connection

The menu bar shows client activity while commands run. If a command cannot access a service, check that service in Settings and review its macOS permissions. Diagnostics can help identify missing access or a stopped connection.

If you rotate a token, update clients that use the old token. Never include a token or invitation code in a public support report.

Updates and support

Use Check for Updates in Apple Core to install signed updates. You can also read the release notes or get support.
